About Sew Modern Shauna
Growing up, I didn't want anything to do with sewing - it wasn't cool to wear homemade clothes in the 70's and 80's! When my mom passed away in 2003, I inherited her sewing machine and signed up for my first sewing class. Making pj's and halloween costumes for my littles on that machine helped me feel close to her.
Today, I wish I could have gleaned every ounce of her seamstress and quiltmaking skills as possible. I now spend every minute I can in my sewing studio, playing with textiles and making things. I discovered the joy that creating brings, and I am enthusiastic about sharing it with you!
